F.A.Q.
Q: What is this site about, in a sentence?
A: Basically it’s a resource helping you find the best computer, laptop or device for your needs and on budget, if possible.
Q: You have products on here! And I used your personal help feature and you sent me a link to a computer. Are you a store? Do you stock the items?
A: No, this site is not a store. We use partners who stock, ship, and service the computers. Currently we use Amazon, Tiger Direct and Circuit City as resources to find you computers.
Q: If you use partners for the products you recommend, what’s in it for you?
A: Two things. I want to help people find the best computer for their needs. As well, I do get a small commission from the sellers listed above. It’s not much but it helps pay for hosting costs.
Q: Aha! You’re just in this to make money! Just like everyone else! That means you’re going to up sell me to something I don’t need!
A: Well yes, everyone is in it to make money. That’s how the world economy works. Would you go to work without a paycheque? The fact is that my commission is small. There is very little difference between a computer of average cost and an expensive computer when it comes to my commissions. A $500 computer may make me $20, and a $700 computer may make me $25. Its in my interest only to suggest the best computer for your needs so you are happy with this service and recommend it to your friends.
Q: How do you know this computer stuff anyways?
A: I’m a certified engineering technologist and am very good with electronics and technology. As well, I have spent time being a computer service technician and still help a friend build and service machines for his business in my spare time. As well, if there is a question I don’t know I can tap into the knowledge of an active computer business to bring you the best answers.
